So the latest outrage sparked by the Rhodes Confessions page is one student telling an anonymous woman that she ought to get tested after a hook-up. And slut-shaming ensued, of course. But so did a lot of condemnation and safe-sex advocacy.
Now, this post is pretty messed up in its own right. But to then blame the unsuspecting woman for this situation? Sies.
The majority of comments on the post were completely outraged by the confession. Interestingly, their rage was largely directed at the confessor for failing to wear a condom and failing to tell the affected woman in person.
But there was this gem:
Look out for more detailed write ups on the Confession pages and the various legal and ethical intersections they bring up.
Why, please Lord in Heaven, why? What would make a man post this and think it is funny? Have we progressed beyond fart-jokes and toilet humour, to rape and hiv jokes? Where do we go from here? Child-molestation? Baby rape?
Finally, please Lord, let this be a joke… The alternative is too horrific to contemplate…
